Patrick Edlinger made films which popularised sports climbing in the 80s. This video shows him lead climbing in the Verdon Gorge. And then climbing..... ropeless...
His control is amazing. I don't climb anywhere near this level... but I have some idea of the satisfaction of a good lead climb.

Yes, very impressive; the guy has phenomenal control and self-confidence. What amazes me is how he can trust the strength of the rock outcrops and tiny ridges so much: if I remember rightly, the Verdon rock is calcareous, which can be very brittle and friable...
BTW, it seems that your first link is simply part 3 of Opera Vertical...
